Alive

It’s a beautiful Sunday morning. It’s rained in the night and early morning. It’s wet, cloudy and breezy. Not to forget brr-ingly cold. But not the mind numbing kinds. Instead it's the kinds that would make you want to breathe in lungfuls of the cold air, the kind that makes your nose go all tingly, the kind that makes you want to eat an icecream to enhance the sensation, the kind that makes you want to do something you haven’t done yet, and most importantly the kind that makes you realize that you are lucky to be alive.

With all that perfection in the air, what am I doing? I am not breathing in the lungfuls of air, my nose is not tingly, I am not eating an icecream, though I am doing (reading) something I haven’t before. But there is a sensation of being alive -- although I am in the library writing and researching for six essays that I have to submit by tomorrow -- because I am listening to some perfect songs with perfect lyrics.

@ Chitrangada
:)
Congrats.
Thanks for your wishes.
At the time of writing the post I was listening to Jab Kabhi from Jhankar Beats. Isn't it a perfect song?

@ D
It is.

@ BASTM
Haan sunday ko bhi library mein. :(
Spent a total of 11 hours in front of the comp reading/writing/researching and occasional listening to music. Oh and I did manage to catch a couple of people on googletalk so that helped. But thanks to my literature assignments I was dead by the time I went home.

@ Prashant
I thought I was. But the walk back home was accompanied by a huge shower. Was looking like a wet cat by the time I reached home I guess.
I love winters too.

@ Rohit
Listened to a cross section of music actually. Including "Hey Jude" and "What if God was one of us". :)

@ Subhadip
Yes, it was one of the songs I listened to. :)
Hail Denver, and everyone else who sings it well.

Amazing description. Am waiting for the Delhi winters. One of my most cherished memories is that of a winter morning standing outside while my dad taught me to breathe in the fresh fog!!!

And add to that a lovely shawl that you wrap around your shoulders and feel the tingling sensation course through your body as the wind gently caresses your face...

What to say....well as deepak says...life indeed is beautiful.

And hoping you finished your essays in time.

i just took the nerd test that u have on the first page... i thought i wasnt but apparently am... very very slightly! :-)
winterrrrrr.... aaah!!! even rolling the rrrs feel awesome!! of course as with most things, there IS that love/hate "thing" involved - i love that cuddling inside 10 blankets feel and wearing your parka over your favourite blue sweater thing and drinking hot chocolate while yr nose is blue thing as well as the warm toasty thing that u can ONLY do in winter... hate that going to work when the world seems dead and lifeless and as delhi winters can sometimes be - interminably GREY!! also hate that frozen toes and frozen every other part of yr body feel, like especially when u turn in yr bed at night and land on some coldddd lumppy place (which seems to be anywhere other than yr current foetal state!)... calcutta winters are reassurinly and disgustingly mild... there's just that occasional nip in the air to sometimes "liven" things up! noida winters are more elemental!! :-D you need to thaw yourself out before u are capable of doing anything!!!
will miss the fog and sting of noida this year and that eye watering rush as the wind hits yr face... not the same as the feeling of sleeping on an actual bed or having hot water that didnt need to be constantly supervised and the luxury of ma cooking that piping hot meal... but i'll miss it all the same.

If only I could persuade you to start blogging. You write with such warmth, imagination and love for words that one can literally see what you are talking about. Blog woman blog!
