Wanted to update the blog but without much effort. So, a tag this time. Thanks, Skeety!
Name three most valuable assets.
Laptop, debit-credit card, cellphone. These must be on everyone's list I assume with a plus or minus.
One truth in your life that haunts you every day?
It’s also the only “episode of regret” but over time, I have coached myself to suppress it with distractions, however less than suitable they might be.
If you were to be stranded on a deserted island, who are the three blog buddies you would take alongside with you?
Rohit, Amiya, Aritro...purely for their sense of humor value.
Where is the place that you want to go the most?
Akbar’s court in Fatehpur Sikri while in session.
If you can have one dream to come true, what would it be?
Write a book.
What are you afraid to lose the most in yourself?
Stubbornness.
What would you do if you found a briefcase full of money?
Depends.
If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
Ten years ago, yes. Today, no, I don’t have the balls anymore.
Which type of person do you dislike the most?
Whiney, self-pitying kinds.
What is your ambition?
This one’s easy...total and absolute world domination.
If you were given the chance to have one super power, what would it be and why?
The ability to read people’s minds.
For you life is?
An unpredictable bitch.
If you could do one thing different in life, what would it be?
Get a new name.
Are you a shopaholic?
Depends on the kind of shop.
Which actor/actress would you like to be?
Without a moment's hesitation...Shahrukh Khan. Several reasons: He is a Delhi boy, he is a North Campus boy, he is incredibly successful at what he is doing in spite of not being from a filmy family, and most importantly, he was a very good student all his life (I have always had a soft corner for those)in addition to being involved in half a dozen other things. In short, I admire the combination of discipline, persistence, intelligence, and unapologetic power politics he must have had to put in to reach and remain where he is. Oh...and I was 15 when I saw DDLJ for the first time. Few men have left as big of an impact as Raj Malhotra from there.
One song that gives you goosebumps?
A well-rendered version of the national anthem, whether vocal or instrumental. (No, this is not some sentimental tosh I have developed while living here in the US. It was the case even when I was in India.)
Do you have any plans for tomorrow?
Yes. I have to teach in the afternoon, and go for drinks at night.
I tag?
Rohit, Amiya, Jayant, Butterfly, Swetank, Aritro, D, Skeety, and Twisted Gourmet. Do at least some of these questions, please. Add some of your own if you wish.

Sadly its me first and not one of the more enthusiastic people.... Thanks for your high opinion of my sense of humour.. ;-)
What does "I Tag" mean?
@ Aritro
You are welcome. Your entertainment value is immense, don't forget.
Tagging means you have to answer the same questions on your blog.
I love any effortless updating trick, so was wondering if I could pile on and pinch your questions for an update of my own in the near future?
I think this is a more accurate answer to the following question -- "If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?"
My version: "Ten years ago, yes. Today, no, maybe ten years later!"
:) what do you think?
Woody...Must say that you've got a lovely profile pic there... and it is so nice to see you updating the blog so often...
Akbar’s court in Fatehpur Sikri while in session =Interesting!!!!!
What is your ambition?
This one’s easy...total and absolute world domination.= LMAO...following Hitler are you?
If you were given the chance to have one super power, what would it be and why?
The ability to read people’s minds.=I would opt for the same *grin*
"Total and absolute world domination"
Hello,fellow I-will-conquer-the-world-you-just-wait-and-watch!
*high fives*
@ Payal
Absolutely. The more the merrier. :)
@ MK
You have such little faith in me! I am offended...na, you are right. I have to agree with you. :)
@ Reeta
Thank you! I am rediscovering my blog these days it seems. Thanks for liking the photo as well.
So we agree on the superpower bit. Are the gods listening?
@ Spirited
High fives back! :)
'Write a book'...Well, of course you will do that and win the Booker Prize some day! We are sure your book will be liked.:-)
Shahrukh Khan zindabad! I too like him for the same reasons that you have mentioned.:-)
:)
Dear Butterfly
Thanks for the vote of confidence but Booker might be a little too off my league.
And may SRK live long.
Ditto about the national anthem. Every time without fail.
The reason for being chosen (yay) for the deserted island point, and your answer to the very next answer makes me think of those maskhare in shahi court. :D Well, we aim to please.
Looking forward to read the book. And one on the Mughals, I hope you remember.
And I love your name. Why do you want to change it?
Ditto for the superpower and the national anthem. And yes, SRK is too good! *copy paste from comment on Sinjini's blog* Nobody can beat his energy, enthusiasm and sheer wit, man!
Yay! THAT would be fun man. We could do so much to kill time...discuss books, watch movies, scrabble, I could drink beer and you guys could count them.
SRK bit is perhaps the only thing I dislike about this world after that chick at work. Erm, actually SRK wins there, on second and third thoughts.
Will take this tag up soon.
Dying to see you on GT.
updated
I'm linking you to my blog!
I agree about Srk. And world domination. And........ the national anthem. RT was a genius.
@ Aarbee
:) What's that one hears about great minds thinking alike?
@ Amiya
Good, I am pleased to see that you aim to please. :D
I want to change my name because it's given me more adventures than I ever wanted. In my next life, I really want to be called Paplu or Pinki or Tina.
@ RT
Now that we are catching up on FB more often do you think GT is feeling ignored?
@ D
Very very nice. And thanks for letting me know.
@ Spirited
I am honored. Thank you. More power to us. :)
@ Clezevra
Thank you for visiting this blog. You have an unusual name. Care to share the story behind it?
GT needs to be brought back to life. Really.
brilliant quote on the blog...one of the few tolkien enthusiasts that I have come across!!
Scribblers Inc.
Hi there,
I'm also in an MFA program in the US (George Mason) and I'm studying poetry. It was great to come across your blog. Am glad to know there's more of us in the same boat! :)
next post pliss...
You sound like Mahi from the movie "Bachna ae Haseeno" in one of your answers.
cant resist lists!
Name three most valuable assets.
my (apparent) sanity, my favourite fast track watch, my family - not necessarily in the same order ;-)
One truth in your life that haunts you every day?
just one? nope... wanna be impartial with all my long standing regrets... but then what is life without roads not taken?!
Where is the place that you want to go the most?
i actually have a list, perhaps i can pare it down to a few items...
1) home, when i'm stuck somewhere i dont want to be or doing something dreary in office
2) on a boat on the hooghly (or a steamer) in the evening
3) driving down dnd in the night
4) riding without a helmet (:-P) down an almost empty road just to see the planes take off near the delhi airport
5) walking through the early morning fog in the darjeeling mall
6) some evening in puri, where pure gold touches the spires of the jagannath temple as the sun goes down
etc etc
If you can have one dream to come true, what would it be?
make my parents really really happy and really really proud that i am their daughter
What are you afraid to lose the most in yourself?
my sense of wonder - i like being astonished (preferably in good ways) - i love seeing something extraordinary and being able to appreciate it... i dont care if i sound nyaka or idiotic or whatever... i like the fact that i can look at something and go wow :-P
What would you do if you found a briefcase full of money?
right now? buy a new camera...
and a car...
If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
i did and it didnt help :-P and i've resolved never to be that much of an ass again!
Which type of person do you dislike the most?
self-absorbed ppl...
What is your ambition?
to take a photograph of everything in the world!
If you were given the chance to have one super power, what would it be and why?
to be invisible sometimes...
For you life is?
a box of chocolates :-)
If you could do one thing different in life, what would it be?
try to be fit and really healthy (like not "healthy" :-p in the indian sense)
Are you a shopaholic?
hmmm... i am a bookshopaholic and occasionally a fabindiashopaholic and definitely a kookie-jar-shopaholic...
Which actor/actress would you like to be?
actor? actress?
hmmm.... well i'm pretty much a diva myself... but i wont mind being shabana azmi... or meryl streep... or lauren bacall... or julia roberts (i LOVE her smile!)
in fact i'd rather be someone from a book than an actor or actress!
One song that gives you goosebumps?
there are a few... and somehow its got more to do with the singer than the song... sometimes of course the words have tremendous significance or sometimes the music can just take yr breath away...
Do you have any plans for tomorrow?
yeahhh... will celebrate a friend's budday... and gotta make up my mind abt whether i want to continue with my present job OR take up a better paying offer... i hate making decisions like these...
