High Fives

Since this tag is fresh and in everyone's current circulation, here's my version of it. Deepti, my take on your maha long tag has me NOT answering all the questions... simply because a blog is not the place for ALL confessions, and also because agar sab yahan likh diya to autobiography mein kya likhoongi? :-) Also the red font, asterisk font, asterisk preceded by a - had me all confused.
So from the list of things I have done, I am going to pick five randomly. And the next list comprises the five things I am rather keen to do...in fact, I could do them NOW.

The DONEs
1. Slept under the stars (quite a few times)
2. Asked out a stranger (once)
3. Taken a midnight walk on the beach (splendid and memorable)
4. Communicated with someone without sharing a common spoken language
5. Thought to myself that I am living my dream (Often)

The TO DOs

1. Backpack in Europe (Yessssssssssss)
2. Take a trip in a hot air balloon (anywhere)
3. Get a tattoo (can't decide on the design)
4. Visit all 7 continents (have touched base with 3 so far)
5. Eat fried green tomatoes (loved the movie with the same name)

Asked out a stranger? Rum effect?

Do you mean to say that you asked out a stranger who was ignorant about your languages, went to the beach with him, slept under the stars and then forgot the whole story as a dream ?

from your to do list - found out 5 places in kolkata which do tattoos since you asked that time... (wonder where they all were then??)

but i have it from a reliable source that it hurts - terriblyyyyy.... are u sure abt this??? or r u going to get something like phoebe did?? (a picture of the world from a great distance - if i remember correctly!!)

and how do u ask out a stranger?? and er.. for the record (even though i am intrigued) :-O that might be dangerous!! he might be an al qaeda operative or worse, doesnt brush his teeth regularly!!!

and backpacking across europe seems to be on everyone's agenda!! :-) glad to have found another bit of common land!!

Yeah,

I'm curious, what did the stranger say?

sweet :)

can u pls tell me which beach did u go to for a mid-night walk?
on my part, i hv spend an entire night by the sea-shore. more than once. it was damn good, watching the waves and the sky right from 'the dusk till dawn' :)

may i ask u to write a post on point-4 in ur list og things hv done? how was it like to communicate with someone without having a common spoken language? was it a verbal communication or some sort of sign-langaunge that u used to communicate with the other person?

@ Kanu
Ummm...I am increasingly getting convinced that it will be an eagle. What do you think?

@ D
ASAP. :D

@ Chitrangada
My list of desires usually reads like a grocery list. I keep ticking off the things I have done. Helps me focus. Aur ek sath kabhi bhi bahut sarey desires nahin hoti hain meri list mein. Unmanageable ho jayega na?

@ Rohit
Nope...completely sober.

@ Dipthought
No. But you could give creative writing a thought.

@ Keka
Yes, I am quite sure. I have often shown tremendous tolerance for pain. Details later.

You get into a conversation with the stranger and then ask him out. Simple. But I do get what you mean by the person being unclean. I could never ask out someone who at least didnt give the impression of being squeaky clean.

@ Kip
He said, "Yes".

@ Mayuri
One memorable beach walk was with my Dad on the Digha beach, when I was in class 8. I chose to tell him a ghost story I had written, and he said that I had it in me to make money by scaring people. Not that he was scared, in spite of my sincerest efforts!
The other memorable midnight walk on the beach was when I was 17. At the Puri beach. And there was a storm coming.

About your last question...no we didnt use sign language, nor did we talk. Communication can be of many kinds, right? Use your imagination.

and you have to remember this as well - you cannot donate blood for like 2 yrs or something after u get a tattoo...hmmmm....

@ Keka
Rose: No, in spite of the fact that it's my favorite.
Lotus: NEVER. I am not a BJP type.
Marigold: NEVER. Too much of a Hindu angle.
Turtle: Hmm...sounds like a plan.

The links havent come properly. I cant seem to check them out. :(
