Everyone! I am officially super excited! I had submitted ten photos on the CNN website at their "Road Trips" section. Seven of my photos got accepted and here is the link. Keep clicking on the "next" button for the photos. (They have been weirdly edited though, which is sad. I think my original work looked better.)
Now, they only need to publish some of my writings to really make me fall in love with them.

This is supercooool!!!
The pictures are very pretty, especially the one with the wig. :D
And yes, your stories there will make everyone else happy too.
You already know the picture with the hat has always been a favourite.
And I'm SO happy for you that.. I don't have words. World is finally waking up to intelligent and talented people. :D

@ Everyone
Can I rub it in your face (please) that I was the only one from India to know about this super cool thing even before the post? Bleh, now I don't mind having missed a MF on this one.
Muhahahahahaaa.
And hey, I think those guys (with metal hearts) cropped your shots. I remember seeing complete shots. Just because you're publishing it doesn't mean you can (beep) around with them damn it.
But anyway, this is a darn good start and you possibly won't need a visualiser with your text later. :D
Er, I meant the only person in India except her family. Still rocks so hard. Ha!
Excellent photographs. But, it was bad that they did not publish the whole photos.
And, you look great with that wig. Very much like a bear.:-P
We always knew that u were a good photographer. I remember how u had taken the snaps during our Rajasthan trip.
hey
grt work with the wig pic n love the long highway:)
n yes.. kudos!
Whoa! This is great! Congrats! Loved the pictures. Especially the one taken from the car. And the one with the wig is just too damn cute! :)
@ Rohit: Yeah, you rubbed it in pretty well, I must say. :P
Congrats...
I don't know about your articles/writing getting published by them but I know that its only a little time before they would be doing a article on the Next Big Name in literature...I only wonder would they show that snap of yours with the wig when they do a story on you!!! :)
hey AWESUM..
though they were weridly edited as u said.. bt being thr is a achievment in itself. taai na..

Way to go!
Hi Sayantani,
I am not a regular reader but whenever I visit your blog, I try to read as much as I can.. almost from where I last left it...
I must say you have one of the nicest blog and your writings are really interesting...
May you continue blogging for ever even after you actually fall in love with CNN :)
the two people standing behind u in the "wig type hat wali pik" look as excited as you :P
seems like u had a great time..i think i m jealous..:)
and..gosh.. what an achievement!!amazing!!
Arup directed me to this the other day ..I think this is fantastic...Way to go :) :)
i saw i saw!! i wish too that they had decided to keep yr original text.. the quoted portions sounded great!!
@ Everyone
Thank you so much. Especially for all the best wishes surrounding my appearance on CNN as a writer. :D Just the thought itself is utterly cool.
I nearly bought that Afro wig looking hat you know. But it was way too expensive for me. Nearly $26. So decided that since I won't be caught wearing this on most days of the week, it need not be one of my purchases from Leavenworth.
New post soon, and not one where I am on a self congratulatory spree I promise. :)
great tinni. congratulations. beautiful snaps. however,u look far better sans the wig...
It's a great achievement to have the photos published on CNN's website.:-)
Each and every photograph is different from one another.

@ Chua
Yes, I think so too.
@ Old MacDonald
Pleasure to see you in cyberspace. And thank you!
Nice! The pics are so Europeally pretty. Love the wig one :) Did you buy the wig? I think I know the answer, but I wish you had. Would have made a great party accessory.
And it's funny the way the first few pics have "Dasgupta said" written next to them. Sounds like some newspaper article quoting someone: "Dasgupta said that measures were being contemplated to bring down the menace of stray dogs." They could've quoted you directly within quote marks!
Now for a story by Dasgupta :)
@ Amiya
Couldn't buy the wig...it was way too expensive. But yeah, I am going to one day.
Oh, for a story by Dasgupta on CNN.
